Industrialization of Construction through Artificial Intelligence applied to hybrid concrete and wood solutions (ICIA)
Context
The construction sector is undergoing a profound transformation towards industrialized construction, which must undoubtedly be accompanied by significant digitalization of the sector and its entire value chain.
This industrial and digital transformation of the sector is a key strategic commitment to achieving the efficiency and economic, social, and environmental sustainability that Europe seeks. Furthermore, it will equip the sector with new technologies and practices that will represent a major step forward for the construction industry.
The ICIA project
The ICIA project consortium is made up of two SMEs, GURPEA and FSGROUP-E, and a large company, ACR, all with a highly distinguished track record in the development of new applications for the construction sector and possessing a strong technological and innovative character.
Its main objective is to promote and enhance the incorporation of industrialized solutions in the construction sector in Spain, and more specifically the CREE hybrid wood-concrete industrialized solution, through the creation of an AI tool, based on complex databases that, on the one hand, intelligently optimizes the building design according to a multi-criteria analysis (economic, environmental, logistical, etc.) and, on the other hand, speeds up and contributes to decision-making through integration.
In other words, the ICIA project will develop a complex tool that allows the simultaneous processing of multiple criteria and parameters (from the limitations of the industrialized solution itself, to manufacturing, assembly or execution parameters) providing different alternatives that help optimize decision-making.
This is expected to optimize the resources needed for the construction of any building and, therefore, also drastically reduce the building’s carbon footprint as a result of the action.
